Leaders Against Litter is an annual statewide Keep Louisiana Beautiful event that showcases our community leaders and elected officials “leading the way” in our charge against litter. This initiative raises awareness about our leaders’ unified commitment to a litter-free Louisiana and encourages others to take pride in their communities by keeping them clean and litter-free.
Leaders Against Litter 2017 will be held on Friday, March 10. Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser will kick off the day by joining the KAB affiliate organizations of St. Tammany Parish at a morning cleanup, while similar cleanups take place in communities all across the state, led by their community leaders. These leaders will then sign a public pledge declaring they will Speak Up, Pick Up and Stand Up to end littering in Louisiana. Culminating the day, Keep Louisiana Beautiful, Lieutenant Governor Nungesser and Volunteer Louisiana will host a press conference at the State Capitol to announce the results from the morning cleanups and ask citizens across the state to take action by volunteering in their community.

“We all have an obligation to preserve and protect our beautiful state. Together, we can make a huge impact. I promise to support Keep Louisiana Beautiful and the local affiliates for a litter-free, more beautiful Louisiana.
I will … SPEAK Up and spread the word that litter is not acceptable in Louisiana.
I will … PICK Up litter whenever I see it.
I will … STAND UP and lead the way for a litter-free Louisiana.”
