Trash Receptacle Grant

Improving local infrastructure

Since 2016, Keep Louisiana Beautiful has provided 103 high quality trash receptacles to our affiliate communities throughout the state, a contribution valued at $52,150. We know that if trash receptacles are available, people will use them. An assessment of the Trash Receptacle Mini Grant Program found that simply placing receptacles in public spaces reduces litter in the surrounding area by 56%.

Grant Purpose

By simply increasing the number of receptacles in a public space, littering can be greatly reduced. The Keep Louisiana Beautiful Trash Receptacle Mini-Grant Program has been developed to assist Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) affiliates in their efforts to provide attractive and high-quality trash receptacles in public spaces by streamlining the grant application process. Please note that this is an in-kind grant contribution as opposed to a cash reward grant and that recipients will not receive grant monies but instead, up to five trash receptacles.

Eligibility

Keep Louisiana Beautiful affiliates and pre-certified affiliates that are currently in Good Standing with KAB and KLB are eligible to apply. Previously awarded recipients may apply again.

NOTE:  Non-profit organizations (501c3), schools, civic groups and government entities that are not Keep Louisiana Beautiful affiliates may submit a grant application for trash receptacles or recycling bins through the Healthy Communities Grant Application.

Applications for the 2018 grant cycle will open on January 16, 2018 and are due on April 6, 2018. Applicants will be notified about the status of their application by June 1, 2018.
