Keep Louisiana Beautiful Welcomes Algiers, the City of Baker, and the French Quarter Management District to the Community Affiliate Network

MANDEVILLE, La. –Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) welcomes three new Community Affiliates to its network of community improvement organizations: Algiers, the City of Baker, and the French Quarter Management District. KLB’s statewide network of 43 Community Affiliates is comprised of passionate local leaders working diligently to stop litter, improve recycling and waste reduction, and beautify public spaces.

The formation of Keep Algiers Beautiful (KAB) has been led by Stephen Mosgrove, an active community leader in Algiers. Kiwanis Algiers is KAB’s host civic organization.

“Keep Algiers Beautiful is excited to be Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s local Affiliate for Algiers, and we look forward to our beautification work in the community,” says Mosgrove.

Keep Baker Beautiful’s formation has been led by Rebecca Bond, Director of Communications for the City of Baker, with support from Mayor Darnell Waites and the City of Baker.

“The City of Baker is thrilled to be a part of Keep Louisiana Beautiful, and we look forward to working together to reduce litter and beautify the City,” says Mayor Waites.

Keep the Quarter Clean is led by Karley Frankic, Executive Director of the Affiliate’s host organization, the French Quarter Management District.

“The French Quarter Management District is thrilled to be an Affiliate of Keep Louisiana Beautiful with our Keep the Quarter Clean campaign to promote litter abatement and beautification in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans,” says Frankic.

To achieve Affiliation, the three organizations were required to form a steering committee, select a coordinator/point of contact, determine the organizational structure and governing body, attend a KLB training session, conduct a community assessment and litter survey, create a one-year plan, establish a budget, and announce their Affiliate status.

“The Affiliate network is the backbone of Keep Louisiana Beautiful, constantly working to make our state a cleaner, greener place to live,” says Cabell Mouton,  KLB Affiliate and Grants Director. “We are happy to welcome the three new Affiliates to our family and can’t wait to see the impact they have on their communities.”

“It’s important to grow Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s network to strengthen our fight against litter and ultimately contribute to an improved quality of life for Louisiana’s citizens,” says Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director. “Our strong Affiliate network offers proof of what’s possible when we all work together toward a common goal.”

KLB is now accepting new Affiliates inquiries. Organizations can submit an inquiry form at keeplouisianabeautiful.org.
