Keep Algiers Beautiful Hosts Cleanup Along Brechtel Park
Keep Louisiana Beautiful Community Affiliate, Keep Algiers Beautiful (KAB), recently hosted a cleanup event along the Brechtel Park fence line across from Behrman Highway and the area Walmart. KAB has found this fence line to be a continuous problem area due to its placement next to the highway and the high volume of people in nearby parking lots.
KAB is working with nearby businesses to create methods for mitigating parking lot litter. KAB volunteers are also working diligently to clean up the area. Despite the heat, they made a huge difference in beautifying this entry point into Algiers.
The KAB team picked up almost 20 bags worth of litter, with one volunteer even finding a $20 bill in the trash! This is KAB’s fourth cleanup event since Love the Boot Week 2023 and they plan to host more events, with the next one being on August 27.
