Rocksey the Raccoon Visits Students at the Tangipahoa Landfill

Ginger Tastet, Executive Director of Keep Tangipahoa Beautiful, takes local students to the area landfill to complete their litter education program. Students tour the site and learn why it’s important to properly dispose of our trash, reduce our waste, and recycle when possible. Students who complete the program receive shirts that read, “I am not a litter bug,” which they proudly wear. During a recent visit, students were excited to meet Rocksey the Raccoon, an advocate for environmental stewardship. Ms. Tastet explained that it’s important not to litter because litter can harm Rocksey and her animal friends.
