Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s Clean Biz Partnership is Now Over 1,000 Businesses Strong

BATON ROUGE, La. – Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s (KLB) Clean Biz Partnership has achieved a major milestone, reaching 1,000 participating businesses in 49 parishes and 44 chambers of commerce in 33 parishes. This milestone was made possible through support from KLB’s Community Affiliates and partner chambers of commerce. Since 2023, this program has engaged Louisiana businesses in the mission of Keep Louisiana Beautiful, encouraging them to adopt daily best practices for litter prevention.

“It’s exciting to see the Clean Biz Partnership continue to grow across Louisiana,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “These 1,000 partners agree that litter is bad for business, and it hurts our state’s economy. Louisiana spends $91.4 million on litter abatement each year. If people didn’t litter, we could use this taxpayer money for other important causes. I challenge every business in Louisiana to join the Clean Biz Partnership and help lead the way to a cleaner Louisiana.”

“It’s important that our businesses take an active role in supporting a cleaner, greener Louisiana,” said Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director. “It’s the simple actions, like keeping parking bays clean and participating in Love the Boot Week, that go a long way. If we work together to keep our communities clean and beautiful, we will all experience an improved quality of life.”

Businesses of all sizes can join the Clean Biz Partnership for free. By joining, businesses commit to adopting daily best practices for reducing and preventing litter such as cleaning parking bays, placing trash receptacles at storefronts, and maintaining a clean dumpster area. Clean Biz Partners also participate in Love the Boot Week (April 18-26, 2026), our state’s largest litter removal and beautification initiative.

“Louisiana Blue is proud to be among Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s Clean Biz partners in our home state,” said Michael Tipton, Louisiana Blue Foundation President and Vice President, Community Relations. “Many health researchers have linked access to clean, green spaces with increased exercise and improved mental health. That’s why supporting cleanup and beautification efforts is an important part of our mission to improve the health and lives of Louisianians. We also appreciate the opportunity to let our team members and their families get involved in volunteer events to pick up litter. It’s a way we can keep the communities we serve cleaner, greener, and overall healthier.”

“A litter-free Louisiana supports the health and vitality of our community, and Sherman’s Glass Inc. is proud to be part of the effort,” said Brandon Phares, Sherman’s Glass Inc, Owner. “Clean surroundings show our commitment to quality—both in our work and in the place that we call home.”

KLB offers Clean Biz Partners educational opportunities such as workshops and webinars. Partners also receive marketing benefits, including signage, social media graphics, and window clings.

The parishes with the greatest number of Clean Biz Partners are Ouachita Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, and Tangipahoa Parish. Businesses and chambers of commerce are listed by parish at  https://keeplouisianabeautiful.org/cleanbiz/. Businesses and chambers can also visit this page to learn more about the program and join for free. You do not have to be chamber member to join.

The Clean Biz Partnership was developed in collaboration with Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Executives (LACCE).
