Get Down & Clean Up Spotlight: Jackson Parish Library

The Jonesboro branch of Jackson Parish Library is one of around 100 Louisiana libraries where cardholders can check out supplies like grabbers, trash bags, and safety vests to clean up litter in their communities. The Get Down & Clean Up program empowers individuals and removes barriers to take action against our state’s litter problem.

Jackson Parish Library demonstrates that libraries are vital to their communities and provide resources far beyond books. In addition to the litter cleanup supplies, the Jonesboro branch offers a used books shelf with free books for all, regardless of having a library card. They have partnered with their local schools for the Wrap Around program, collecting donated uniforms or coats for children, and giving credits off library fines to those who donate. These initiatives reduce waste by reusing old items, all while filling a need in the community. The library also offers a Seeds Library and is one of KLB’s Clean Biz Partners.

Thank you to Jackson Parish Library for your contributions toward a clean, sustainable, and healthy Louisiana!
