Lafitte Branch Library Keeps Louisiana Beautiful!

We’re shining a spotlight on the Jefferson Parish Lafitte Branch Library for their incredible commitment to keeping their community clean and beautiful!

The library recently hosted a “Trash Bash” cleanup around the scenic Wetland Trace, bringing together local families and volunteers right after story time to make a difference. Armed with garbage bags, pinchers, and plenty of enthusiasm, participants worked together to remove litter and protect this special outdoor space.

This event is a wonderful example of how local libraries can serve as hubs for civic engagement and environmental education. Beyond connecting readers to books, the Lafitte Branch Library is connecting neighbors to one another and inspiring a shared sense of responsibility for Louisiana’s natural beauty.

Thanks to the library’s leadership and participation in our Get Down & Clean Up program, residents can continue to take action year-round. Community members are encouraged to stop by the Lafitte Branch Library to borrow Get Down & Clean Up bags and join the effort to Let Louisiana Shine!

A big thank you to the Lafitte Branch Library team for showing what local stewardship looks like, and for reminding us all to be part of the solution, not the pollution!
