Keep Louisiana Beautiful Community Affiliates to Celebrate Louisiana Arbor Day

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) Community Affiliate network will celebrate Louisiana Arbor Day, which is Friday, January 17, with tree plantings and giveaways.

“Trees are important to Louisiana, as they provide shade, create habitat, reduce noise, and offer natural protection from storms,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “Thank you to Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s Community Affiliates for celebrating Louisiana Arbor Day and emphasizing the crucial roles trees serve in our communities.”

“Trees do much more than visually enhance our communities,” said Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director. “They are good for our health and wellbeing, and they enhance our quality of life. I encourage everyone to take some time this Louisiana Arbor Day to plant a tree.”
