West Monroe Introduces New Recycling Trailer

When the West Monroe Recycling Center completed its new expanded facility in February of this year, the site moved further from the downtown area. To ensure that citizens and businesses from the Downtown area would be able to continue their recycling efforts with ease, the City of West Monroe purchased a mobile recycling trailer with an EPA Grant. The trailer is now available for merchant and public use in Downtown West Monroe.

The mobile recycling center location on Monday and Friday is at the front parking lot of West Monroe City Hall from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. They are accepting cardboard and plastic No. 1 items.  Every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., the mobile trailer will at the Downtown West Monroe Parking Lot at the corner of Trenton and Wood Streets.  The items collected there include cardboard, plastic No. 1, aluminum cans, and glass.  This is a free service that is available to the public and the items that can be accepted are subject to change.
