Repurpose Plastic Bags to Make a Blooming Piece of Art
Keep Eunice Beautiful and the Bulb & Blossom Garden Club recently repurposed plastic bags to make art with over 100 kids at the Community Garden Christmas Festival!
This craft is super simple and fun to do. All you need are used plastic produce bags, acrylic paint, a paint brush, paper, and a paper plate. Optional supplies include markers and paint dot markers. Here are the steps:
- Take a produce bag and blow it up. Tie the knot tight so air does not escape.
- Put a quarter-size drop of paint on a plate (any color!)
- Using the knot you tied in the bag, hold the bag and dip the bottom of the produce bag in the paint.
- Dab the bag with the paint on a piece of paper to create a petal. Repeat the step until your last petal is next to your first.
- Using a paint dot marker (or another paint color with a brush), dab the middle of the flower.
- Draw a stem and leaves with a paint brush or marker in another color to finish the piece.
