Letters of Intent for Healthy Communities Grant Due March 11

Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) is accepting Letters of Intent for the Healthy Communities Grant through this Friday, March 11. 

 

The purpose of the Healthy Communities Grant is to provide funding to support local projects and programs that will bring about behavioral changes needed to improve, preserve, and protect the natural beauty of Louisiana. 

 

All Louisiana non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations, governmental agencies, schools, universities, and KAB affiliates located in Louisiana are eligible to apply. The reimbursement grant funds projects and programs, with grant amounts ranging from $2,500 to $8,000. 

 

Since 2004, KLB has funded over $3 million in grants to local communities in the areas of litter abatement, waste reduction, recycling, and environmental education. The grants are one-way KLB helps support local projects and programs for cleaner, greener communities throughout Louisiana. 

 

2021-22 recipients of the Healthy Communities Grant program include the City of Alexandria, Keep Covington Beautiful, Keep Ouachita Parish Beautiful, Keep Terrebonne Beautiful, Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, Parish Proud, Rotary Club of Crowley, Shreveport Green, South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center, St. Martin Sheriff’s Department, Tangipahoa Parish Government, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and Women’s Healing Center.

Timeline for Healthy Communities Grant Program: 

 

  • Letters of Intent due March 11, 2022 via  email or mail to KLB (Attn: Cabell Mouton, 902 Coffee St., Mandeville, LA 70448) 

 

  • KLB will issue invitations to apply for the HCG by email on or before March 21, 2022. 

 

  • Those who receive an invitation to apply may submit an online grant application for funding consideration on or before April 15, 2022. 

 

  • The Healthy Community Grant cycle runs from August 1, 2022, to May 1, 2023.
