The Peaceful Waters Restoration Project will restore the two scenic ponds located in the back pasture of Double Z Cowboy Corral. Home to large fish and connected by a charming bridge leading to a small island, this area will become a quiet retreat for families, veterans, seniors, and visitors to fish, picnic, observe wildlife, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Planned improvements include shoreline cleanup, removal of debris and invasive vegetation, improved fishing access, benches, picnic areas, native landscaping, wildlife habitat enhancements, educational signage, and regular community volunteer cleanup days. The project will preserve the natural beauty of the ponds while creating an outdoor space that promotes conservation, agriculture, recreation, and community wellness.

Throughout the month of September, our team will be conducting cleanup efforts throughout the parish , focusing on shorelines, drainage canals, drainage ditches, catch basins , rivers and waterways. Crews will be removing litter , debris, and trees that or obstructing drainage flow to help reduce flooding risk, improve water quality, and keep our community clean and beautiful. These efforts are important part of maintaining our drainage system and protecting our natural resources. We appreciate the support and cooperation of our team as we work together to keep Ascension Parish clean, safe, and resilient.

We have officially launched our September 12, 2026, Amite River Shoreline Cleanup! Join us as we work together to help keep our waterways clean and beautiful. Become a part of the DRAIN DEFENDERS and help us clean out drains throughout Shreveport! Not only will this help reduce litter in our waterways, but together we will keep our streets from flooding one drain at a time!!

Participants will have the opportunity to clean up the shoreline of North Beach in Lake Charles which is the only white-sand inland beach from Texas to Florida. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School students and families are invited to collect trash at the I10 Beach from 8 am-10 am on Saturday, Sept. 19th.

The Omicron Beta Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc as part of its international day of service (September 26, 2026) will be participating in the Love Our Waterways campaign "Keeping it Blue"

We will be picking up litter along the shoreline in Jimmie Davis State Park. Check in at the Entrance Station upon arrival.

This will be a shoreline cleanup with canoes and kayaks. Those wishing to work the shoreline on foot with grabbers may do so, others with canoes and kayaks will depart from the designated point for a three hours shoreline cleanup. One half the group will work upstream and the other half will work down stream.

The Keep UL Lafayette Beautiful Coulee Cleanup brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to help preserve the natural beauty of our campus and protect the waterways that connect our community. During the cleanup, volunteers work in teams to remove litter from designated areas along campus coulees and surrounding green spaces. Cleanup supplies including gloves, litter grabbers, safety vests, and trash bags are provided. Participants are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring a reusable water bottle.

In celebration of Love Our Waterways, Keep Nicholls Beautiful will be cleaning up Bayou Lafourche and the bayouside on the campus of Nicholls State University.

Neighbors please join us to clean up the shoreline of our boundary waters. This includes Bayou St. John, Lake Pontchartrain, and the London Avenue Canal. We will meet at the Pelias sculpture along St. Bernard at New York St.

Two catch basins and drainage path on the east side and north side of the community garden (corner lot) will be cleaned and cleared of all debris blockage in its path. This will allow the natural flow of rain water to flow properly to prevent street flooding. This is very important as this event coincide with hurricane season.

This date (Sept 21) marks the end of a month long clean up on or near LSU New Orleans campus. On the 21st the trash pick up will cover the shoreline of Lake Pontchartrain nearest the LSU New Orleans campus (east and west campus). Storm drains and canals leading into Lake Pontchartrain around campus are to be cleaned up from the shoreline. People aboard, boats and kayaks are welcome to collect debris as well.

World Cleanup Day (WCD) is a global day of community and sustainable action that refreshes the natural beauty of local areas. Loyola and Tulane community members work together to combat the large amounts of waste in local neighborhoods through a widespread litter cleanup. The goal of WCD is to reduce waste in the community through collective action, education, and environmental awareness. By dedicating a day to cleaning litter out of the local neighborhood, WCD encourages us to be mindful about where our waste ends up and its impact on the environment. This year’s event will be a part of the KLB Love Our Waterways initiative. Through working together, we can create meaningful change. Anticipated participants: 250-300

Keep Algiers Beautiful volunteers and partners will clean up along the shoreline of the Mississippi River at the river batture in Old Algiers near the Algiers ferry landing.

We’ll start by clearing the drains around Galvez Garden and then continue to clear out drains through the neighborhood. You can also drop off your frozen food scraps and aluminum cans when you come for Compost and Cans Collection, open from 10:00-2:00.

Once a month, volunteers will work together with City Park staff to support City Park's litter abatement initiative by removing litter from City Park waterways with the use of personal kayaks. As a self-employed and struggling senior citizen, there are very few ways for me to take part. I don't like being held back by paperwork and videos, being told when I can start and when I must stop. Being basically unwanted and barely tolerated by the young and athletic. If only there were an option, I'd like a couple T-shirts that actually fit me to wear proudly but would supply my own tash bags and gloves. I'll be out there cleaning my own storm drain when the weather and my health allows. If anyone wants to help me or for me to help them, sometime in September, lets get together. Meanwhile, I have no interest in the politics and statistics gathering etc - I'm just a guy who wants to clean up the litter whether or not Love the Boot can afford to give me a T-shirt. I think there are a LOT of people like me, who just can't find a way to participate without all the hassles and age-ism.

Keep ULM Beautiful is hosting a location for Water Sweep 2026, a waterway and campus cleanup event in collaboration with Ouachita Green and ULM's Student Government Association (SGA), on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event will begin at Scott Plaza (the ULM fountain). We will be removing litter and debris from the banks of our beautiful section of Bayou Desiard, as well as from nearby parking lots and roadways, all of which drain into the bayou. As part of LDCC’s new affiliation with Keep Louisiana Beautiful, participants will work together to remove litter and debris from the pond area while promoting environmental stewardship, community pride, and care for Louisiana’s waterways. No special experience is needed — just comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a willingness to help make a difference. Cleanup supplies will be provided while available. Join CleanAlex for a community cleanup of Hynson Bayou on Saturday, September 26, from 8:00–11:00 AM! This event is part of Louisiana's statewide Love Our Waterways initiative. We'll be removing litter and debris from the bayou and surrounding area to help protect our local waterways. Parking is available nearby at Big Island Field and Alexandria City Park. All ages and skill levels welcome; gloves and trash bags will be provided. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring water and sun protection.

The mayor will get boaters to clean city lake the week of the Keep Eunice Beautfiul Waterways cleanup September 19.They will go out at least two days that week with different groups using Lowes buckets, & crawfish bags . The parish waste district will provide dumpsters for the debris collected thanks to Keep Eunice Beautiful

Join us in Breaux Bridge to clean up a stretch of the bayou and Parc des Ponts on land in preparation for our Shake Your Trail Feather Paddle Parade and Festival. We will have trash pickers, bags, buckets, extra water and snacks. Bring your own water bottle. There is a bathroom on site. If you have a kayak or boat, please bring it. We will take the boat out at 10am and look for trash to pick up all along Bayou Bonfouca and Bayou Liberty.

The North Shore Beach HOA will promote the event and coordinate volunteers. I am on the board doing marketing/PR. We have a dumpster, restrooms, community center nearby and can provide refreshments. We have a small popular beach and a longer shoe line along Carr Drive. We may have boats to pull up debris and old crab traps.

The goal of the Adopt a Pond/Park Program is to provide St. Tammany Parish secondary students with hands-on learning opportunities to collect water quality data, identify and quantify microplastics, and to learn about habitat restoration, local drainage, the impacts of litter, and natural resource stewardship. The program activities are aligned with the La. State Science Standards. The first field trip of the 2026 school year coincides with Love Our Waterways month which offers a perfect opportunity for students to participate in the cleanup event.

We will paddle the river and pick up bottles, debris and any other trash along the riverbanks and beaches. We encourage people to come out and play and to remind them to leave nothing but footprints and memories behind. Grounding ourselves back w nature and leaving it cleaner than we found it.

Volunteers will be picking up litter along the shoreline and in the Abita River. Depending on river conditions, a few experienced kayakers would be a welcome addition. KAB will have heavy duty tongs and grabbers available.

Volunteers will be assisted by with the help of Southeatern Wildlife Refuge who will supply canoes to help pick up Litter in the Bayou. We will also be picking up Litter on the Road side by the rock section of Lake Road, which leads to Lake Pontchartrain and Bayou Lacombe.

Little Creek flows under the Tammany Trace bridge near the St. Tammany Parish Government Complex and the playground. It is a very scenic part of the trace, but the creek flows into a dead-end pond where trash collects. People call it the Turtle Bridge because of the hundreds of turtles who live in the pond. It's a great place to stop, especially with children who love seeing the turtles.
