The Peaceful Waters Restoration Project will restore the two scenic ponds located in the back pasture of Double Z Cowboy Corral. Home to large fish and connected by a charming bridge leading to a small island, this area will become a quiet retreat for families, veterans, seniors, and visitors to fish, picnic, observe wildlife, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Planned improvements include shoreline cleanup, removal of debris and invasive vegetation, improved fishing access, benches, picnic areas, native landscaping, wildlife habitat enhancements, educational signage, and regular community volunteer cleanup days. The project will preserve the natural beauty of the ponds while creating an outdoor space that promotes conservation, agriculture, recreation, and community wellness.

CCA Louisiana will be partnering and supplying volunteer help with Keep Ascension Beautiful. We are looking for any able bodies to come help cleanup the shoreline on foot or waterway by boat.

We have officially launched our September 12, 2026, Amite River Shoreline Cleanup! Join us as we work together to help keep our waterways clean and beautiful. Volunteers will meet at Fred’s on the River at 8:30 AM before heading out for the cleanup. Throughout the month of September, our team will be conducting cleanup efforts throughout the parish , focusing on shorelines, drainage canals, drainage ditches, catch basins , rivers and waterways. Crews will be removing litter , debris, and trees that or obstructing drainage flow to help reduce flooding risk, improve water quality, and keep our community clean and beautiful. These efforts are important part of maintaining our drainage system and protecting our natural resources. The Town of Oil city is coming together as a community to help clean up and care for beautiful Caddo Lake! Our drainage ditches contribute to the town’s flooding problem. Debris and trash are blocking many culverts. For “Love The Boot” we had over 75 volunteers and were expecting more. We’ll concentrate our clean-up effort along the Park area with greater access to Bayou Teche.

Mississippi River Bank Cleanup – Harahan, LA Join us on September 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM for a community cleanup along the banks of the Mississippi River at 53 Berkley Ave, Harahan, Louisiana. This volunteer event focuses on removing litter and debris to help protect our waterways, improve the local environment, and preserve the natural beauty of the riverbank. The Keep UL Lafayette Beautiful Coulee Cleanup brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to help preserve the natural beauty of our campus and protect the waterways that connect our community. During the cleanup, volunteers work in teams to remove litter from designated areas along campus coulees and surrounding green spaces. Cleanup supplies including gloves, litter grabbers, safety vests, and trash bags are provided. Participants are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring a reusable water bottle.

In celebration of Love Our Waterways, Keep Nicholls Beautiful will be cleaning up Bayou Lafourche and the bayouside on the campus of Nicholls State University.

Join us for a community Bayou Lafourche Kayak Cleanup as we come together to help keep one of our most important local waterways clean and beautiful! We’ll launch from Nicholls Bayou Side Park on LA-1 in Thibodaux and paddle along Bayou Lafourche, collecting litter and debris from the waterway and surrounding banks. This cleanup is a great opportunity to give back to our community, spend time outdoors, meet other people who care about our waterways, and help protect the health and beauty of Bayou Lafourche. Don’t own a kayak? No problem! Kayaks are available to rent locally through Geaux Paddle, which offers solo and tandem kayak rentals in Thibodaux. Participants needing a rental should reserve their kayak in advance. Kayak Rentals: Reserve a kayak with Geaux Paddle Participants bringing their own equipment should bring a kayak, paddle, and personal flotation device (PFD). We also recommend bringing water, sunscreen, a hat, and clothing that can get wet or dirty. Cleanup supplies, including trash bags and gloves, will be provided. Troop 10339’s Daisies Making Waves cleanup is a family-friendly service project focused on helping keep our Louisiana waterways clean and beautiful. Girl Scouts, families, and community volunteers are invited to join us as we work together to remove litter, protect wildlife habitats, and make a positive impact in our local community. This event is a great opportunity for girls to learn about environmental stewardship, community service, and the importance of caring for Louisiana’s natural resources. All ages are welcome to participate.

Scouts and volunteers will clean both Blood River and Tickfaw River by boats.

The LDWF District 2 Fisheries staff will be picking up trash within and along the shoreline of Bussey Brake Reservoir.

The Composting Network Community Lakefront Cleanup. Date: Saturday, September 13. Time:7:30 a.m.” Volunteers of all ages will walk the shoreline from West End to the University of New Orleans, collecting litter and debris to help protect our waterways, preserve the natural beauty of Lake Pontchartrain, and keep the lakefront clean and beautiful. Everyone is welcome to join us in making a positive impact on our community.

Neighbors please join us to clean up the shoreline of our boundary waters. This includes Bayou St. John, Lake Pontchartrain, and the London Avenue Canal. We will meet at the Pelias sculpture along St. Bernard at New York St.

Two catch basins and drainage path on the east side and north side of the community garden (corner lot) will be cleaned and cleared of all debris blockage in its path. This will allow the natural flow of rain water to flow properly to prevent street flooding. This is very important as this event coincide with hurricane season.

As part of Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s Love Our Waterways initiative, join Marais Consultants and friends in the St. Roch neighborhood, working to keep this green infrastructure system clean and functioning! Volunteers will pick up litter and clear weeds along several "Green Streets" — green infrastructure installations that use a combination of permeable pavement, rain gardens, native plants, and underground storage to capture and slow stormwater, reduce runoff, filter pollutants, and ease pressure on the city’s drainage system and waterways. This date (Sept 21) marks the end of a month long clean up on or near LSU New Orleans campus. On the 21st the trash pick up will cover the shoreline of Lake Pontchartrain nearest the LSU New Orleans campus (east and west campus). Storm drains and canals leading into Lake Pontchartrain around campus are to be cleaned up from the shoreline. People aboard, boats and kayaks are welcome to collect debris as well.

World Cleanup Day (WCD) is a global day of community and sustainable action that refreshes the natural beauty of local areas. Loyola and Tulane community members work together to combat the large amounts of waste in local neighborhoods through a widespread litter cleanup. The goal of WCD is to reduce waste in the community through collective action, education, and environmental awareness. By dedicating a day to cleaning litter out of the local neighborhood, WCD encourages us to be mindful about where our waste ends up and its impact on the environment. This year’s event will be a part of the KLB Love Our Waterways initiative. Through working together, we can create meaningful change. Anticipated participants: 250-300

Keep Algiers Beautiful volunteers and partners will clean up along the shoreline of the Mississippi River at the river batture in Old Algiers near the Algiers ferry landing.

We are clearing out neighborhood catch basins and clearing trash cluttering street gutters.

We’ll start by clearing the drains around Galvez Garden and then continue to clear out drains through the neighborhood. You can also drop off your frozen food scraps and aluminum cans when you come for Compost and Cans Collection, open from 10:00-2:00.

Protecting Our Urban Stormwater Infrastructure In an urban area like New Orleans, our stormwater infrastructure—including street gutters, curb inlets, and catch basins—is the neighborhood's primary line of defense against heavy rains. Unlike indoor household plumbing, our city’s storm drain system is entirely separate from wastewater treatment. Every gallon of rain that runs off our roofs, sidewalks, and streets flows straight into our catch basins, through underground drainage pipes, and out into local canals and surrounding waterways without any water treatment or filtration. When street gutters are clogged with litter, plastic bottles, leaf litter, and sediment, stormwater backs up into neighborhood streets. When heavy rain forces that debris down the storm drains, those pollutants flow directly into our local aquatic ecosystems. Help protect our city's stormwater infrastructure and local waters! Join the Institute of Utopian Hospitality and the Faubourg Lafayette Community Association on Saturday, September 26, 2026 for the Love Our Waterways Catch Basin Clean-Up! By clearing debris from our street gutters and catch basins, we stop marine pollution at the source, improve neighborhood drainage, and keep our urban waterways clean.

Once a month, volunteers will work together with City Park staff to support City Park's litter abatement initiative by removing litter from City Park waterways with the use of personal kayaks. Join Dillard University as we participate in Love Our Waterways Month with a cleanup of the Duck Pond next to Dillard University’s campus. Volunteers will come together to help remove litter and debris, beautify the area, and demonstrate our commitment to protecting and preserving the waterways and green spaces in our community. This cleanup is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to show their Bleu Devil pride while making a positive impact on our campus environment. Fellow Algiers Kiwanis, neighbors and friends will end a month of volunteer clean ups of nominated storm drains on Sep 30th. The usual famous "power hour" cleanups where younger and fitter volunteers surge an area at a fixed time and date leaves out many of us older, slower, volunteers. Our concept is for small groups, 2 or more people, to informally gather and help each other cleanup storm drains they notice need attention in zip code 70131 (Old Aurora area of Algiers east of Holiday Dr.) Terrific.IT LLC is a very small business in this zip code, and we will be available to help those who need it - and of course we will need some friends to help with the area near our business. It takes at least two of us for safety, and with flexible timing we can work around heat advisories, rains, etc. The western part of Algiers already has a traditional fixed time and date Cleanup Scheduled for those who like the "power hour" swarming of many volunteers on just one day and time. Both events are being organized by Algiers Kiwanis Members. We welcome crossover if anyone wants to do both.

CCA Louisiana's Monroe Chapter will be providing volunteer help alongside Keep Ouachita Parish Beautiful's Team to cleanup the Ouachita River's waterways and surrounding shoreline areas.

Keep ULM Beautiful is hosting a location for Water Sweep 2026, a waterway and campus cleanup event in collaboration with Ouachita Green and ULM's Student Government Association (SGA), on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event will begin at Scott Plaza (the ULM fountain). We will be removing litter and debris from the banks of our beautiful section of Bayou Desiard, as well as from nearby parking lots and roadways, all of which drain into the bayou. As part of LDCC’s new affiliation with Keep Louisiana Beautiful, participants will work together to remove litter and debris from the pond area while promoting environmental stewardship, community pride, and care for Louisiana’s waterways. No special experience is needed — just comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a willingness to help make a difference. Cleanup supplies will be provided while available.
