Over 40 Speakers to Present at Keep Louisiana Beautiful State Conference October 23-24 in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. – Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) will host its annual State Conference October 23-24 at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge, featuring over 40 experts presenting on best practices for litter prevention, recycling, beautification, and sustainability efforts in Louisiana. KLB will introduce a new format featuring breakout sessions, allowing attendees to create customized learning experiences that meet their unique interests and educational objectives.

Conference topics include:
– Turning Litter Data into Solutions
– Transforming Waste for Resilient Waterways: Glass, Shells, and Trees
– Roots of Change: The Power of Organic Land Management
– Conducting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event
– Integrating Native Plants into Your Beautification Project
– Louisiana’s Outdoor Events Geaux Green to Reduce Waste
– Microplastics in Our Waterways and the Impact of Plastic Litter
– Main Street Beautification and Revitalization
– And more

 

Keynote speakers include Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser, KLB Executive Director Susan Russell, and Jay Dardenne, former Louisiana Commissioner of Administration. Dardenne will present on the subject matter of his film and documentary companion book, both titled “Why Louisiana Ain’t Mississippi… or Any Place Else!” Attendees will include local and state leaders, local government administrators, community organizations, non-profits, university staff and students, and individual community members.

“It’s important to provide a forum for local and state leaders, businesses, non-profits, and individual citizens to discuss Louisiana’s litter problem,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. “The KLB State Conference serves as an opportunity for us all to come together to bring attention to this issue and brainstorm ways to address the problem. Together, we will move the needle toward a cleaner, greener Louisiana.”
