Keep Louisiana Beautiful Announces 2015 Annual State Conference

BATON ROUGE, LA. – Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) announced its upcoming Annual State Conference held Oct. 1-2, 2015 at the Lafayette Science Museum in Lafayette, Louisiana. The 12th annual event marks the yearly culmination of the most up-to-date information on the impact of litter and expert resources for state beautification.

Industry experts, affiliate leaders, civic officials, local partners and environmental enthusiasts from across the state will gather to present and discuss topics including litter prevention and enforcement, aquatic trash pollution, grant writing, business development, recycling and education. Attendees will learn and be inspired by examples of successful projects, industry updates and panel discussions.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Gregg Gothreaux, President and CEO, Lafayette Economic Development Authority

The first night of the conference will feature an awards dinner with special guest speaker Marcus Eriksen, co-founder of 5Gyres, an organization working to research aquatic plastic pollution and find solutions for regaining a plastic-free ocean. At the dinner, KLB will recognize outstanding affiliates, organizations, corporate partners and individuals from across Louisiana for their work promoting and strengthening cleaner communities.

KLB encourages affiliates, teachers, partners, volunteers, community leaders, state agency representatives, and parish and city officials to register now to secure their spot at the 2015 annual conference.
