Helping Business Leaders With Their Sustainability Goals
Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB), in partnership with LifeCity, recently conducted three free Business Sustainability Workshops aimed at helping local businesses and organizations adopt environmentally responsible practices. These free workshops in Baton Rouge, Monroe, and Lake Charles allowed business leaders across industries to come together, share ideas, and take meaningful steps toward their sustainability goals.

We had a positive turnout with 66 attendees across the three locations. The workshops drew a diverse group of participants, including business owners, managers, and sustainability coordinators — all interested in learning how small changes in their operations could lead to significant environmental benefits and business improvements.
Each session included a range of topics designed to provide practical insights and actionable strategies:
- How to Save Money and Go Green: Exploring how sustainable practices can reduce costs and grow your business through best practices and tax incentives.
- Best Practices for Recycling, Litter Abatement, and Energy Reduction: Practical advice on reducing energy use, waste, and litter in the workplace.
- Assess Your Business for Opportunity: Identifying opportunities for cost savings through sustainability.
- Tell Your Story: Engaging your team and community in your sustainability efforts.
- Create Your Sustainability Roadmap: Developing a sustainability and resilience plan tailored to your business’s top opportunities.
Attendees appreciated the comprehensive information, practical advice, and the opportunity to network with other businesses committed to sustainability. The interactive nature of the workshops facilitated meaningful discussions and the exchange of ideas, helping participants to start implementing changes in their own organizations.
We are grateful to LifeCity for their partnership and support in making these workshops possible, as well as our partner organizations in each location for hosting: Baton Rouge Area Chamber, SWLA Economic Development Alliance, and Ouachita Green. A special thanks also to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussions.
