About
We Are Keep Louisiana Beautiful

Keep Louisiana Beautiful strives to support communities in their efforts to be cleaner and greener.
- Since Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s founding in 2000, the organization has prioritized education, enforcement, awareness, litter removal, and beautification.
- Our network of Community, University, and Community College Affiliates, volunteers, and partners work diligently to improve communities and transform public spaces.
- In the fall of 2024, Keep Louisiana Beautiful transitioned from a non-profit to a state program under the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana and the Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism. Keep Louisiana Beautiful remains focused on bringing people together to build and sustain vibrant, clean communities. We help build community capacity through our programs and resources for litter education, prevention, litter removal, enforcement, beautification, recycling, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives.
Mission
Our mission is to promote personal, corporate, and community responsibility for a clean and beautiful Louisiana.
Our key initiatives include:
Improving policy and infrastructure to make it easier for people to do the right thing through our grants programs, advocacy, and data collection.
Strengthening litter law enforcement through enforcement legislation support, ordinance templates, grants, and a litter court handbook.
Influencing positive behavior through education with our K-5 litter education curriculum, teacher trainings, public awareness campaigns, and motorist education programs.
Increasing community capacity through our community-based programs, and our signature events: Love the Boot Week, Love Our Waterways, and the State Conference.
