Carla Buchholz passed away unexpectedly on August 5, leaving behind a devoted husband, three children, and seven grandchildren whom she adored. Carla was a perfect example of a servant to her community. She served on the Mandeville City Council and dedicated two decades to the Keep Mandeville Beautiful Board of Directors. She also was an active member of the Keep Louisiana Beautiful Board of Directors, acting as treasurer for nine years.

Carla spent her last day with her feet in the sand at the beach… her favorite place. All that knew her will always remember her for her love of life, her laughter, and her smile. She was a bright light that was extinguished too soon. Her love of life was displayed every Mardi Gras as she led the Goddesses of Fun and Merriment down Bourbon Street for their annual display of costumes to the delight of parade-goers. Carla will be remembered and loved for a lifetime.
