The Keep Louisiana Beautiful annual state conference and Everyday Hero Awards Banquet will take place on October 13-14 at the Hilton Capitol Center in Baton Rouge. We hope you’ll join us!


All those interested in working towards a greener, cleaner, more beautiful Louisiana are invited to attend. Industry experts, civic officials, and anti-litter advocates from across the state will gather to present and share real world applications for environmental stewardship in local communities.

This session is required for affiliate directors appointed within the last 12 months and those in the formation process. Affiliate directors who feel they would like a refresher are also invited to attend. Orientation will include: reporting, affiliate requirements, programs, communications, grants & resources.

Session I: Keep America Beautiful’s 2020 National Litter Study Results: David Scott, Ph.D., Senior Director, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation; Keep America Beautiful

The KAB 2020 National Litter Study is the most comprehensive study of litter and is a follow up to the landmark 2009 study which builds on science-based litter research started by KAB in 1969.

Session II: The Litter Connection to Flooding with the Louisiana Stormwater Coalition

Hear from the four founding members of the Louisiana Stormwater Coalition about litter and its flooding consequences. The Louisiana Stormwater Coalition is an all-volunteer, grassroots effort to increase awareness about the benefits of stormwater management,  securing consistent funding for stormwater management,  and working towards solutions to Louisiana’s litter problems.

Session III: Creating & Maintaining Community Recycling Program

Rachel will discuss her long-term solutions to work hand in hand to bring recycling to rural and smaller communities throughout Texas. She will be joined by Janet, Courtney, and Aundi who will discuss creating a local recycling drop-off program in your community.
