2016 Keep Louisiana Beautiful State Conference Highlights

img_2103Keep Louisiana Beautiful proudly hosted its 13th annual state conference at the end of September, bringing together environmental enthusiasts, non-profit organizations, government officials, and affiliate organizations from across the state together to advocate for a cleaner, greener Louisiana.

This year’s event featured some of our state’s highest elected officials that have taken a stance for our mission. On the first day of the conference, Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden honored the organization by proclaiming September 28th as Keep Louisiana Beautiful Day, and that evening Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser joined us on stage to honor KLB’s Everyday Heroes at the awards banquet. On Thursday, the 130 conference attendees looked on in excitement as First Lady Donna Edwards and Department of Environmental Quality Secretary Dr. Chuck Carr Brown unveiled the state’s anti-litter slogan and placed the first “Love the Boot, Don’t Pollute” bumper stickers on awaiting state vehicles.
